Why do we call them Icon Friends?

In the Orthodox Church, the saints are more than figures from history—they are faithful men and women who show us what it looks like to follow Christ. Their lives reflect His love, and they continue to pray for us and encourage us in our own journey of faith. That’s why we display their icons in our churches and often in our homes, much like we would display photographs of beloved family members.

I wanted children to grow up seeing the saints not as distant or intimidating, but as familiar friends in the faith. Through prayer, stories, and meaningful play, they can begin to recognize the saints, learn from their examples, and build a lifelong connection with these holy men and women.

New Icon friends are added all the time! stay connected.
